The spatial distribution of mobile phone users over French municipalities with more than 1,000 official residents. Each user is assigned to a municipality according to the geographic position of her “home location”, i.e., the phone tower where they make most of the class during nighttime. The color of municipalities, in a gradient from blue to red, indicates the number of mobile phone users assigned to that municipality.
